The Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA) represents worldwide manufacturers of internal combustion engines and on-highway medium- and heavy-duty trucks. EMA works with government and industry to help the nation achieve its goals of cleaner air and safer highways and to ensure that environmental and safety standards and regulations are technologically feasible cost-effective, and provide safety and environmental benefits.
Through continuing improvements in truck and engine technology, emissions control and safety systems, our members are the leaders in providing efficient engine power and safer vehicles that both enhance environmental protection and public safety of the global transportation system.
EMA sponsors scientific and technical research to improve engine and truck performance and fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and enhance safety, and is a leading advocate on those issues around the world. EMA works with government regulators and other interested stakeholders on the development and implementation of cost-effective regulations, test procedures and programs designed to reduce emissions from internal combustion engines, improve the quality of the fuels and lubricants on which they operate, and improve the fuel efficiency and safety of on-highway trucks.
